How can we help?
Most questions are answered below. If not, write to support@rainbowhunt.app and we'll get back to you, usually within two working days.
The mic button is missing
- Check Settings → Rainbow Hunt on the iPhone: Microphone and Speech Recognition must both be on.
- The game only listens on the iPhone itself. If the game language differs from the iPhone's (say German on an English iPhone), iOS 26 or later downloads Apple's speech model the first time; keep Wi-Fi on for a minute and the mic appears.
- On iOS 18 to 25, add a keyboard for the game language with dictation turned on (Settings → General → Keyboard) so the speech model is on the phone.
- Typing the name always works.
It keeps saying “Too dark”
Turn on a light, step towards a window, or tap the torch button at the top left. The game needs enough light to see colors the way our eyes do.
There's no sound
- Check that Sounds is on in the game's settings (gear icon, then answer the grown-ups question).
- Turn the volume up with the side buttons while the game is open.
- If the iPhone is connected to a cable, dock or screen, the sound may play there instead.
A color got a strange name
Light changes colors: warm lamps make things look more orange, and shiny surfaces reflect their surroundings. Try again in daylight, and aim the circle at a flat, evenly colored spot.
Opening the settings
Tap the gear at the top right of the camera screen and answer the sum written in words. There you can change the language, turn sounds off, show HEX codes, or delete all colors.
Moving to a new iPhone
Colors move with your iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) like other app data. There is no account and no cloud sync in the game itself.
